Kate's Personal and Professional Story:
Dear Friend,
If you have continued on my site this far you are probably considering one of the more important decisions in your life: investing in your greatest asset, yourself. A decision to have a coach is not one to approach lightly and it is highly personal. Finding the right coach for you is of greatest importance. Your coach must be someone in whom you can trust as well as share values and ideas with. There needs to be a synergy between you and your coach, a sense that your coach walks their talk and is playing on your team with your success in mind. To help you decide if I might be that person, I want to share a bit of my CV and story with you…If you want the short version click here:

"All life is an experiment, the more experiments you make the better."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson
I hold a BA in English and I am a graduate of Coach U with over 200 hours of coach specific training. As a professional coach, I have been awarded the Associate Certified Coach designation from The International Coach Federation. I gained my management expertise during 10 years as Human Resources professional at United Parcel Service, managing a department of 10 in a district of 2200 on Long Island, NY. I discovered, I could do just about anything I put my mind to including drive trucks and supervise a group of men to accomplish a task, regardless of their age, background and whether or not they liked me! And, mostly we all had fun doing it!
"Life is to be lived. If you have to support yourself, you had bloody well better find some way that is going to be interesting."
--Katherine Hepburn
At 30 I went through my mid life crisis: I decided that big bucks, 70 hours a week at work and very little time for fun was not the life I was going to choose. I quit my job, sold my house, and spent a month in Africa and two months on a cruise ship in the Pacific to try to discover my next life adventure. I have always been a person who thinks in possibility! Why can't an x truck driver be a cruise director on a glamorous yacht? Using my HR skills, I fashioned a resume targeting my strengths to the travel industry and landed a job with a tour company taking groups to the then USSR. This blossomed into 7 years spent at sea and around the world honing my management skills as a Cruise Director aboard one of the worlds' most prestigious sailing yachts: Sea Cloud. As Cruise Director and Customer Service Manager in a Multi-National environment, I learned about strategic planning and managing people to accomplish goals: as well as methods of providing and maintaining extraordinary customer service. I saw the world from a rich persons point of view, lived what became wonderful fun memories and got paid! Not bad for a truck driver!
"The secret of making something work in your lives is, first of all, the deep desire to make it work: then the faith and belief that it can work: then to hold that clear definite vision in your consciousness and see it working out step by step, without one thought of doubt or disbelief."
--Eileen Caddy, writer
Building on my travel experiences and worldwide contacts I created and owned (for 11 years) a successful special interest travel business, ETA, Inc. which offered travelers the opportunity to be guests in the homes of Lords and Ladies, attend private musical performances and experience art collections not open to the public. This business taught me the roles of marketing, sales, finances and collaborating with various expert partners for my overall success. Anyone can go it alone, but the smart ones employ every expert they can, learn as much as they can and share it all with gusto!
"Even the Lone Ranger had Tonto!"
--Kate
At 44, I discovered interdependence and met a man that loves to travel, learn new things, believes as I do, that strength, vulnerability, loving, caring, pain, joy and a sense of humor is what makes life worth living. Tom and I have created a life style that encompasses our needs, wants and values. We each have our own businesses that we are passionate about. We take one weeks vacation a month. We take care of our health. We spend time with family and friends, traveling, diving, skiing and just plain being and of course, sprinkled with lots of laughter!
As you can see, I love to reinvent myself, utilizing my vision of possibility, enthusiasm, strengths and knowledge including building awareness and creating new growth and direction for others and myself. Change has always been an ally for my success! The Coaching Advantage, LLC is the culmination of this quality in myself. I have spent the last 3 years growing this business whose mission is to foster positivism, possibility, collaboration, growth, empowerment, enhanced performance and individual and corporate greatness through the use of professional coaching skills administered by means of expert listening, straight talk and a sense of fun.
"People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success."
--Norman Vincent Peale
If you are ready for a partner for your success who wants more for you than you want for yourself, who will help you tap into your personal strengths and wisdom and help you knock on and open doors so you can choose to create reality where there used to be just dreams…then what are you waiting for? Call me: 540-989-6885 or send an e-mail and lets talk, that first conversation is free with no obligation. Doing it is part of coaching!
"Every act is its own reward."
--Emerson
I wish abundance, hugs and laughter for you and yours, Kate
